VIDEO: CERES's Natural Cork- Beautiful, Versatile and Environmentally Responsible
Posted by: Jamie 6/17/2008 2:29 PM

You may think cork flooring requires a laminate finish in order to be durable, but that is not the case with CERES natural cork flooring. Chuck Phillips with CBC Corp., gave an in-depth description of CERES's newest developments in cork flooring, including its new ceramic oxide finish. CERES's cork flooring no longer needs to be finished on site, which means no more polyurethane coatings!

The average cork oak tree has a life span of 150 to 200 years and its bark can be safely harvested about every nine years. What makes CERES's cork flooring unique is that it is manufactured from cork waste left over from wine stopper production. Coupled with the company’s strong sense of environmentally responsible manufacturing and consciousness, the CERES product line is a socially responsible choice in flooring options. The company’s certifications include ISO 9001, which insures CERES flooring products achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world and ISO 14001 certification recognizes CERES commitment to the air, water, earth and its inhabitants by operating in an environmentally responsible manner. All of the company’s flooring products also meet the guidelines of the USGBC.
