Midwest Builders Show- How to Be Green NOW Demonstrations
Posted by: Jamie 3/24/2008 11:55 PM

The Midwest Builders Show that took place in Rosemont, IL on March 12-13, 2008, presented educational demonstrations 3-4 times per day on designated stages positioned throughout the show floor. The How to Be Green NOW clinic, hosted by Mike Ostiguy, focused on the "best practices" for improving energy efficiency for building projects. I filmed a portion of Mr. Ostiguy's demonstration where he discussed ways to conserve electricity. In the second and third videos, Mike talks about fresh air ventiliation systems.

Mike Ostiguy is a registered builder in Rhode Island specializing in energy related construction. During the last several years he has worked on a variety of single and family dwellings located across the state of Rhode Island that have been built to ENERGY STAR® standards and that have incorporated technologies such as insulating concrete forms (ICFs) and structural insulated panels (SIPS). Mike has been a featured presenter at energy related special events and trainings during the last several years. He also received a business degree from the University of Rhode Island.
