We were told that we need to keep the load bearing pads inside the basement free of foam, so that the concrete from the slab bears directly on the footing. Some of the radiant pipe we are installing has to go over these areas that have no foam under. We are using foam clips and not the wire mesh, so what would be the best way to anchor the pipe over the areas without foam?

Thanks,

Boontucky,

Are using a high density foam made for under slab/high load applications? If so, I don't see why the perimeter needs to rest directly on the footer. You don't want your heat to to dump into to your footers either.

Thanks Patrick. The foam went all the way to the walls. I was talking about the load bearing pads in the middle, the ones that hold load bearing walls. We already poured the slab, so too late for anything else. I used rebar to tie the pipe where the pipe had to go over the areas without foam.
