Hi all I want to thank everyone wo has helped me with some issues I have had in the past that I believe is now fixed. Now to another issue I just found out. My thermostat in my bedroom zone will not turn on the boiler circ pump. The circ pump works fine when the basement, first floor and hot water is demanding heat The thermostats is a digital luxpro. I am assuming the voltage out of the thermostats will be very low due to 2 AA batteries. Any help with some troubleshooting steps will be great I can take pics if anyone needs it and post on dropbox. I pulled the electrical cover off the thermostat and boiler and all connections are tight. I do not know if it worked last year or not as I was out of the country and my wife never noticed as it rarely gets used

Things I just tried
I jumpered the 2 wires behind the thermostat and nothing happened. I then numbered the 2 wires at the boiler connection and the circa pump turned on and off like clockwork by removing and installing the jumper. Now this is where I am confused. Shouldn't the circa pump turn on when I jumpered the 2 wires at the thermostat also?
Does the thermostat give a low voltage to the boiler or just creates continuity?
Thanks
Larry

Shorting at the thermostat not doing the same thing as shorting at the other end of the same wire suggests a broken wire.

I thought of that but with a 5 year old house and the wire easily accessible I didn't see any breaks but I guess it must be. I will look again for a break and get my volt meter out and do a continuity check to make sure.

Thanks

I just found that the thermostat wire goes to a Honeywell inline valve which does open and close as I verified it. When the valve opens no continuity is getting to the wires to the circ pump. When I jump the wires all is good. Looks like I have a bad inline Honeywell valve.

I pulled the switch apart from the valve, cleaned it, re tweaked the spring(seemed collapsed), all is perfect again. I Hope that this will help someone with similar issues
