Jonr, I would suggest that you study basic heat transfer sometime. With the ONLY EXCEPTION of when BOTH the slab and the room are EXACTLY at the SAME TEMP, heat is ALWAYS being transferred between the slab and the room. Whenever the slab is at a higher temp than the room, heat from the slab is transferred to the room. Whenever the slab is at a lower temp than the room, heat from the room is transferred to the slab. What point are you trying to make?

I suggest that you learn to READ - specifically where I wrote "transferring heat into the room" and the difference between "into" and your misrepresentation "between". What's your point - that you like strawwoman arguments? I can't believe that anyone buys anything from Borst - character alone should scare anyone away.

Actually, people should be more concerned about taking advice from someone who has posted as much ignorance as you have (4394 posts now...) and who has never disclosed what company, if any, that you actually work for. I dare say that you are by far the most ignorant person on this forum on every subject...and that isn't an easy accomplishment.  And if history repeats, you won't respond to this challenge either just like you have never responded to anyone else who has called you out.

Gosh, I thought I was her whipping boy! Didn't you once state, in your typical modesty that you are an engineer jonr?

Forgive me if I don't pile on. jonr's comments are thoughtful and correct as usual. Please let the "other" sailor speak, get thee behind me, demon!

As the OP complains of over-heating in a basement, solar-gain is off topic and irrelevant like most of sailor's high-brow blather. There must be someplace where she can make a mean--ingful contribution...

You can't control overshoot on any radiant slab without outdoor reset. You can use slab and ambient temperature stats but they are of little use in a basement without the added challenge of solar gain.

Actually, it was you Badger who first raised the subject of solar heat gain in a basement...and then went on to further illustrate how little you know about outdoor temp reset and about HR control in general...

There is no way that Jonr is an engineer. More likely a clerk at Home Depot...but we will likely never know as he hides and spews his ignorance from the shadows...

Unfortunately, like the Middle East, peace treaties don’t last very long around here either. Plus this HR section has always been like the Korean Demilitarized Zone where only the fearless and foolish dare enter.

So when called out for a strawwomen attack, Borst workers try ad hominem attacks - pathetic. I'm an engineer, not so shadowly disclosed by clicking on my name.

No, you are not an engineer…unless you count operating a toy model railroad as being an engineer. No, your responses have always indicated that you couldn't pass a high school science class. No, you are not even a human being. You are just an algorithm that haunts this forum, parses some data and then generates a one line dumb or dumber type response so as to generate a high post count identity that can subsequently be sold to some person to create a credible presence on forums like this. Sort of like a dumbed down version of the Watson computer that competed on the Jeopardy Game Show. I heard about this on FOX News so it must be true.

I don't see anything here worth such "passionate disagreement". Considering it's all the regulars, maybe we should save up the personal attacks until there is really something worth going for it over. Or, just save it, period.

Of course, I could always bring up the topic of where the tubing goes in a radiant slab. ;-)

Sorry boys, I enjoy the entertainment value that you provide me far too much to ever leave this forum. If you can't handle the truth or don't like the heat, you shouldn't hang around in the kitchen.

Nice one ICF, LOL :-)
