I recommend you call Eldon Hampton, owner, Geothermal Distribution, Rockwall (near Dallas), TX, at 972-679-1438.  Geothermal Distribution is a WaterFurnace GeoPro Master Dealer, and has been very successful installing GSHPs in our Texas clay soils for over 10 years.  In addition to regular size residential settings, a good portion of Geothermal Distribution's business is very large residential and commercial installations (particularly large school complexes).

I realize Texas isn't New Jersey, but I'm aware that Eldon travels occasionally to manage larger projects.  Hence the recommendation here.

Feel free to state that the recommendation to call came from me if you wish.

Good luck!

Best regards,

Bill

Samirshah,

I'll be happy to look over your plans and help you design a system.  I'm currently installing a 13 ton water loop system in West New York, NJ and soon to install a 19 ton system in Alpine NJ.   In NY and CT we install DX (which we prefer) but NJ DEP, in their inimitable wisdom have not approved DX in Jersey.

Feel free to contact me by phone at 845-774-8484 or email.  Visit our Website at www.TotalGreenUS.com.

samirshah,  have you found a reputable geothermal contractor? I am a Northwest NJ homeowner considering putting a system in and am looking for someone to recommend a contractor to use for the job.  I see you wasked for a system designer/engineer.  IS that the best way to go ratehr than relying on just the contractor to install it?

Thank you for your anticipated reply.

Gary,
references, references, references.
your designer or contractor will be as good as their reputation implies. also might try the local building department.
reputable contractors will get help if they need it to do your job. adding a 3rd party designer if you don't need one may not improve outcome but could raise price.
good luck,
Joe

Definitely check references. I have of several firms which I subsequently crossed off my list. Several turned out to be mostly family members or best friends of the installer and/or included folks who didn't know what kind of wells or geo systems they had which made me suspicious. None were good references in my books.
