Does anybody make the equivalent of a mini-split (wall mount 9600 btu) for geothermal? It seems like it should be just as easy to pump around antifreeze/ground loop water than refrigerant. Maybe it's too hard to make it quiet?

Is this similar to what you are thinking? ComfoFond Geothermal Heat Exchanger It's a pre-heater / cooler for ventilation systems, runs off a geo loop. Zehnder is the parent company of Runtal radiators.

Very interesting! The comfofond looks a bit high-end and esoteric for mainstream residential, but maybe a sign of good things to come. The climatemaster is about what I was looking for, thanks!

The germans use the ComfoFond type units in super low-energy houses (Passivehouse, Minergie) with no conventional heating system, just tempered ventilation air. Under 5,000 Btu / Sf / Yr range. I know some folks in the US who do the same thing with a ground loop of pex under the slab run to an airhandler in the incoming ventilation air stream to take the edge off in winter and summer.

Seems like it ought to be a pretty simple piece of equipment.

FHP also has console units in their commercial section. There are also hydronic units.
