Hi, I am looking for someone to service my heatpump, and provide some HVAC services in the seacoast region of NH. The installers of my current system (chosen by the builders, not by me) have not filled me with confidence. If anyone knows of good service in my area, I'd love to hear about it.
thanks,
rob |

Northeastgeo is near you, and claims to have a stable of installers - check with them |

You can find area installers at the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (igshpa) web site list of certified installers. If you are interested, give us a run down of problems and prescribed solutions. We can give you an idea if your angst is founded. Good luck, Joe |

Thanks, I contacted NortheastGEO, and they designed the system. The installers were working under contract form NortheastGEO. NortheastGEO has begun working with me to be sure that I would be satisfied with my HVAC service company, and have been of great help in this issue.
To address Joe's comment, the problem is that I have a air return grate high up on a 16' wall that has loose louvers that vibrate when the system is running. It sounds like a harmonica. I have been waiting for a replacement since february when the problem started. They have sent people out 3 times, always with the wrong part, and then I wait for months longer while I wait for the supposed new part to arrive. With service like this, I am hesitant to want these folks responsible for annual maintenance or additional zone installations.
Let me know if you think my angst is founded?
thanks, rob |

That's a small issue, easily fixed.
That said, I would share your acute annoyance that they can't seem to get a simple thing resolved, and would also share your reservation about their general competence.
A bit of glue or caulk where the loose vanes meet would probably fix it for awhile.

They came and caulked it, but didn't want to wait around to let the caulk dry, so the house reeked of silicone for a day and a half afterwards. Since it is so high up on a wall, I have no way of getting at it conveniently, and don't really want ot go buy a ladder that can reach it. Getting at it by ladder is complicated by the staircase position.
I agree that it is a small thing easily fixed, and thus can't understand how it isn't resolved over 6 months later. There have been numerous phone calls and e-mails on the issue.
This poor attention to detail leaves me wondering if they can pay attention to the work in general moving forward.
