Hi,
I am a Brit that lives in France, and i have just received a GSHP from Nordic Geothermal's European distributer. Unfortunately, with France and England being metric, and the pipes on the back of the HP being what appears to be imperial, i am having problems finding pipe fittings over here! In metric, the pipes at the back of the HP are 2 of each of 38mm & 27mm copper stubs(no thread) and 2 at 25mm in plastic (again, no thread for the desuperheater). After a google conversion, it appears that the 38mm is very close to an inch and a half, and 27mm is close to an inch, but i am not sure what the 25mm could be in plastic? This is slightly under an inch. How would be the best way to connect to these? I'd rather not solder as just inside the unit the pipes are insulated, I'd prefer some kind of compression fitting that will allow me to drop down to a metric fitting if possible. Can any one out there advise?
Cheers

If they are copper refrigerant fittings, you should braze them, not crimp them. Not sure what the plastic fitting would be for.
Brazing copper doesn't really require an exact fit, either, so you should be able to get something close and braze it. |
