Has anybody else installed one of these yet? Curious to hear others thoughts on the long term viability or what you like/dislike. WaterFurnace currently has the 7 Series which is a soft start compressor with 12 stages of heating and 12 stages of cooling with capacity as little as 20% of rated and as much as 130% of rated(in cooling only) COP up to 5.3 at partial load and up to 41 EER. I think Climatemaster has mentioned the Tranqulity 40 but everything I have heard is that they are still 1 year + away from shipping/installing the units unless anybody has more information on this.

Here is our first variable capacity geothermal install.

It was a 4 ton system, and is so quiet, even at full speed. Fully communicating and it monitors its energy. It will also compute superheat and sub cool while showing flow rates and varying them based on capacity and size of zone calling for heat/cool.

Hope to hear others thoughts on the technology as I have not seen it discussed here yet.

-Travis

Travis - it was a fast catch, but curious to what the insulation covering you are using over your PT ports on the front of the unit? Or is that just armocell insulation cut to fit around the misc. pipe? We use 2" insulation tape and tape up everything nice around the PT ports, but curious to what you guys use!

I don't have the exact compressor model number but it is a Danfoss compressor used only by WaterFurnace with a Danfoss variable drive controller.

The insulation we use on the PT ports is what comes with the connections kit to the flow center from WaterFurnace.

If so, it is probably the same one a friend of mine in Ireland is using in a DX system he makes.
