I have Climatemaster TT27 two stage water source heat pump with a closed loop 4 ton system. I'm not home at the moment, but I'm pretty sure I have a ATP32U01 thermostat, but I will check tonight. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to properly set up this thermostat? I don't trust that my installer did it correctly. How many CPH should there be, should there be offsets programmed in, what should the aniticpator figure be, etc, etc. On my particular thermostat it doesn't appear that I can manipulate each stage of heating. It also appears that my unit runs in 2nd stage quite often. I'm just trying to be as efficient as possible.

Some useful comments were made in a prior thread: http://www.greenbuildingtalk.com/Forums/tabid/53/aff/13/aft/81047/afv/topic/Default.aspx
That won't tell you all you need to know, but getting educated on what options there are and how the thermostat interacts with a heat pump will help you sort through information provided here and elsewhere.

Ok, I pulled out my manual for my thermostat and it is either a ATP32U03 or ATP32U04. My ultimate goal is to limit the thermostat from going into AUX strip heat for as long as possible. I changed the 'smart heat staging' setting in the thermostat to 120 minutes. So, if I'm correct, does this mean the unit will run for 120 minutes in stage one/stage two before it switches over to AUX heat? I've also tried to see if I can change the 'differential settings' in the thermostat, but it doesn't appear my thermostat is set up to allow me to do that. Is there a way to change the settings in the thermostat to allow me to change the differential settings, and what is the optimum differential setting. This stuff is all foreign to me, and like I said before, I just don't have faith that my installer understands setting up the thermostat with groundsource heatpump.
