If the utility bills run $250-290 even in the shoulder season, when the system is not running, there are likely other electrical consumers. Try google power meter or something similar to track down the KWHs.

We can not blame the geo without seperating other electricity users as Doc said.
There is an article by a woman online that says (paraphrased) "My bills are not much lower than my neighbors so geo must not be saving me much........Now I know that each house has different requirements and demands......."

Your electric cost (price per kwh) is low. A properly designed 2 stage unit should run alot. So where is the electricity going?
Where do you live? What was the manual J load for the house? Electric or gas hot water? Do you have a DSH (desuperheater) and if so did installer use a buffer tank? Are other owners with geo at $80 to $100/month quoting whole house electric use or just geo? How experienced was your installer?..........

Oh yes we have ideas, have you any information for us?

Is there any issue with the home? We recently had a customer that had $100 a month summer bills but $400 a month winter bills and they blamed the geo, when it was all said and done this new home had more leakage than a typical 1950's home and yes the geo was using energy but it was because of other issues, once everything was sealed and insulated better the bills dropped.
However in your case as others have pointed out, your issue seems to NOT be your geo, or the bills would be signifigantly higher in the summer and/or winter than staying constant year round.
Do you have a well pump that is maybe running all the time, an old fridge or multiple freezers in the garage or something else that would cause the issue. One way to know if its the geo or not would take you about an hour or two to get good data but might be worth it to keep your mind at ease.

On a very cold or very hot day, check the amp draw/how many watts the system uses over the course of 1 or 2 hours, now figure out if everyday was like that day, how many KWh's you would use and then deduct that from your electric bill and now you know what your geo is costing in an extreme month.
