What are the pressures supposed to be?

When first fired up Low Side was 60 psi and high side 195 psi. Worked fine for first 3 years with 22 degree temp difference from supply and return

You could take a small sample of the HX deposits and test various acids against it in a glass. Take the best and use it liberally (you have little to lose at this point).

I haven't looked into it, but perhaps sulfamic or hydrochloric, both with an inhibitor.

I've got a few months to decide but so far I haven't been able to find any replacement parts since it is a R-22 system. I'll drain HX again and try to get a good sample to test. Thanks for the help

Numbers mean more when you have all of them. Things that run pressures up include air and water temps which you didn't provide for your base line numbers.
I missed this before but are you really only getting a 7F drop in air temp while cooling?

Not my area, but are your results consistent with a worn out compressor that isn't producing much flow (with the TXV maintaining the pressure)?

The results are consistent with a dirty HX (fan coil or coax)

Compressor is fine no noise or power draw. Unfortunately I'm going to have to either have system Drained again and remove WX and maybe have it ultrasonic Cleaned or give up and buy a 4 ton R-22 condenser. I am going to try to call Tetco today to see if they still Supply these WX other wise I'm spinning wheels.

Hey Joe Would be a third opinion as my A/C guy has been Saying all along that it acts like condenser is dirty (waterside exchanger). I think the TXV was bad from factory as I installed this unit In another house I built in PA but would not heat always Ran toaster. Unit was sent prematurely before I ordered It. Called company and they were out of business. Replaced it with a water furnace and had no issues. Heated and cooled great with same closed loop system. I'm guessing the TXV was bad from get go but seized open enough for cooling cycle To work fine for 3 years until HX started to foul and cause my Original high side trips this past summer. After replacing TXV That corrected metering and got my pressured back to a except able level and stopped my high side trips but still no where near efficient. At this point its more of a project since temps are perfect and we haven't used the heat since we moved in 3 years ago.

We decided to move on. Replacing WS ex changer seemed like throwing good money away on 22 system. I bought a new 3 ton Rudd 410 system and completed install today. After pumping system down below 500 micron I now know how long it takes to do a true vacumm. Took almost two hours with a brand new JB eliminater at 6 CFM.

Thanks for the help!
