Does anyone here know when or if the Emerson / Copeland scroll compressor issue resulting in clogged TXV has been resolved?
Apparently, a rust inhibitor used in the Copeland scroll compressor was reacting with the R-410A POE oil and was resulting in clogged thermal expansion valves (TXV). Here is a link to the Emerson Tech Bulletin:
http://www.emersonclimate.com/en-us...-28-14.pdf A google search for "clogged TXV" will turn up hundreds if not thousands of hits on this issue.
This was apparently happening throughout 2014. I will be purchasing a new geothermal heat pump in the next couple of months and would rather not have to deal with this issue.
My primary interest is a Climatemaster TEV038 that uses the
Copeland Scroll UltraTech 2-stage compressor, but most brands of similar 2-stage geothermal heat pumps I have looked at use the same compressor.
Thanks.
