Does anyone here know when or if the Emerson / Copeland scroll compressor issue resulting in clogged TXV has been resolved?

Apparently, a rust inhibitor used in the Copeland scroll compressor was reacting with the R-410A POE oil and was resulting in clogged thermal expansion valves (TXV).   Here is a link to the Emerson Tech Bulletin:   http://www.emersonclimate.com/en-us...-28-14.pdf  A google search for "clogged TXV" will turn up hundreds if not thousands of hits on this issue.

This was apparently happening throughout 2014.  I will be purchasing a new geothermal heat pump in the next couple of months and would rather not have to deal with this issue.

My primary interest is a Climatemaster TEV038 that uses the Copeland Scroll UltraTech 2-stage compressor, but most brands of similar 2-stage geothermal heat pumps I have looked at use the same compressor.

Thanks.

By and large it has been resolved but it also can be remedied (if you get an older model) with the introduction of Re-Nu from NuCalgon.
Most units are now being fixed without the intrusion of TXV replacement.
More importantly, ask potential installers what you would pay out of pocket for a TXV replacement while unit is under warranty and if they say nothing, get it in writting.
