Natural Building Workshop
October 18-30
Participants arrive October 17 and check out October 31.
The Bosque Village is hosting a Natural Building Workshop in October.
Our goal is to provide attendees with practical knowledge in strawbale,
cob, and adobe construction. We will also work on an earth roof and a
small earthship structure. Hands on practice with knowledgeable and
skilled instructors - we hope to leave every participant inspired to
bring natural building back to their home community!
In addition to natural building practice, we will also provide
permaculture tours and lectures and sustainable living discussions.
Housing is provided at the Bosque Village - an off the grid community
space and retreat center located in the rural Mexican highlands of
Michoacan.
During "free days", we will provide tours around the Lake
Pátzcuaro area - a beautiful lake surrounded by indigenous artisan
villages. The Lake Pátzcuaro area is a popular tourist destination for
folks who want to get a taste of the rural highlands. For people who
want a real experience in cultural exchange, our workshop offers a
great opportunity.
By combining the infrastructure at the Bosque Village (solar power,
water catchment, composting toilets, etc), numerous forms of
sustainable building, and a taste of local Mexican and Purepecha
culture, we hope to provide participants with a deep and meaningful
workshop, new skills and knowledge, and life-long friendships with
folks who have similar interests and goals.
