Hello everybody, I am a new member and I recently discovered treehugger.com. I am so excited to see the growing energy of 'environmental responsibility' throughout the internet. This means awareness is growing. And speaking of awareness, I have done hundreds of hours of research online and I have still not found many forums with people discussing Atmospheric Water Generators. Is anybody here familiar with this technology? An Atmospheric Water Generator creates pure drinking water from the humidity in the air. Yes, 'water from air'. I am very interested to get peoples' feedback, comments, and questions on this new technology. I do not want this post to be considered spam or advertising so I'm not going to tell you to go to my website and check out Atmospheric Water Generators. Simply Google it and you'll begin to discover. I look forward to being a an active member of this forum and learn many new amazing things. -Derek |

Very good question. Our latest models, coming out in April, has a mechanism that allows the machine to generate more water in less humid regions. So regardless of where the generators are placed, they will produce a sufficient amount of drinking water. |

Yes, in fact it is one of the world's first all-in-one devices. It functions as a Water Dispenser, Dehumidifier, and Air Purifier. |

I know when we were looking at ways to get pure water I looked in to these. To make a gallon of pure H2O by distillation it took about 1 kwh. Using an Atmospheric Water Generator used about 5kw to generate a gallon at 70% humidity (pretty high if you ask me). Way to much power, but if you had no other source of water, maybe, but then again what are the odds of having 5 kwh of power and no water available?
I guess it comes back to the right tool for the right job... |

Yes, your statement is quite logical. Usually the first round of production on newly invented technologies has some things that R&D analyzes so the product improves through an evolution process in the long-term future. Think on the flipside,e if you do have access to that power, why not use an Atmospheric Water Generator? And if there are areas poor enough to not have that type of power, then people must work to together to help one another. We have poverty and drought issues right here throught the US... Thank you Brock. Good chat |
