i have this newly built garden pergola, i need suggestions on what kinds of plants should i grow on it, like what kind of vine to serve as a roof... i'm on a tropical country so any plants will do... pls do give plants that go well altogether..

Confederate Jasmine, or for something with fruit Scupernong or muscadine. The ones with fruit might drop their leaves if it gets cold enough, adding sun in the winter. Where are you exactly?
