Has anyone used Certineed's Form-a-drain system. If you have, what method of removal of drainage water did you use?? Any pros and cons of the system??

It looks like a great system with internal and external drainage pipe

does anyone have a ballpark price on this stuff??

I used 8" FAD on the last house I did. There was about 220' of footing with 16 corners. I think I had about $800 in the FAD with all the corners and accessories. Works well. I use this stuff whenever I can.

We have used a lot of it, downsides are cost and breaks too easy, especially in the winter.

I charge $3.50 a lineal foot for FAD. There is a new product called Forma-Corr, it should be cheaper and has male and female ends instead of couplers.

We use it on most all footers. Pros a much more level footer= a much better wall.

I think the product is fantastic. The only negative feedback I have gotten was from an engineer. His concern was that normally the weeping tile should be installed slightly lower than the footing (does not always happen that way in the field), with this product the drainage system is not lower than the footing. I think it is a minor detail and like to use the product as much as possible.

The manufacturer is Drainage Industries of Appleton, Wis., but all I can find is an ftp site that requires a login. You'll find phone and email here: http://www.zycon.com/CompanyDetails/62686

Has anyone done radon mitigation with FAD?

Where were you installing FAD? Have you used any since? Do you know if they have done anything to improve the durability of the product?

Hi,

I'm adding on with a related question for those of you who use form-a-drain.

My understanding from the form-a-drain install notes, is for a drain to daylight is to have the "outside" form-a-drain go to the daylight pipe, and the "inside" form-a-drain go to the radon pipe. I'm wonding is just one connection from the "inside" form-a-drain to the stair well wall (where I plan to go verticle and vent through the 2nd story roof) is OK. I mean the foot print is 1,600 sq ft, is just the one connection enough for adequate venting?

Now, if you have a sump pump because it's too far to drain to daylight, then you connect the "exterior" form-a-drain to the "interior", and from there to the sump pit (with a sealed lid), and from the sealed lid go up through the roof to vent it. Is that correct?

I'm hiring out the footing, wall and slab pours, but the prep work for the radon pipe is on me.

Thanks.
