Any recommendations on how to run the PEX hot and cold supply system in an icf/sip house with a stem walled slab? I have only seen the trunk systems pre-pour. Is the PEX ran under the slab, in the walls or what. I wont have much attic using the sips. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would imagine that the PEX is only run under the slab and not in the stem walls. I think as long as you have the PEX laid out before you pour the stem walls and floor in one continuous pour, you should be fine.

I was under the impression that PEX systems usually get run "from above" or in other words in attics and walls. Will you have a crawl space?

Thanks for the input. No, I won't have a crawlspace or much of an attic with the sips and vaulted ceilings through many parts of the house. I will be using metal studs so I figured some sort of conduit or grommet system.

PEX can be run easily through metal studs. There is a tiny plastic sleeve that you are supposed to place right at the spot where it passes through the cut-out in the stud. From what I understand the important part is allowing enough slack in the PEX line when you brace it - in other words you wouldn't want to tie it down tight with a zip tie because it needs a bit of slack to move in the sleeve when it expands and contracts.

I am from India. Can somebody guide me to literature on PEX? I can send an e mail to manufacturer .
