hello, i am installing a marmoleum flooring and am a complete novice, i am putting the marmoleum straight onto the subfloor as instructed but am concerned about the dips and imperfections of the subfloor. apparently the marmoleum will contour itself to the imperfections of the subfloor. i was recomended ardex feather finish to level the floor, upon reading the tech info on it, it seems possible that it is toxic (has vinyl acetate copolymer) is there any other eco friendly item that does the same as the feather finish? or any other bit of advice? thank you for your consideration

There are any number of skim products available; simply use one that the mfg says is compatible with the adhesive. Last time I used it I recall 1/4 ply or luan was necessary, not direct floor sheathing?

Marmoleum is good stuff and requires a little finesse when installing. Not only is the adhesive rec by Marmoleum necessary, but even a simple torch is required to lay it right when you have scribing cuts to make. If you haven't laid "vct" style tile, I suggest you find a video and learn some tips!

can you clarify exactly what type of marmoleum flooring? I have installed click tile marmoleum that requires no adhesive as it is floating. Just want to be sure what you have.
