Hi everyone,

Our house is a 1961 california ranch.  We'd like to refinish the cabinets.  I asked around and found a well-regarded company to come give us a quote.  The guy who came out was very professional and nice.  I asked him about the product they use as a topcoat and whether it was low-VOC, and he said it was not.  He said it was actually high-VOC and that they need to special order it because it's difficult to find.  I asked if they have any low-VOC options and he said they had tried low-VOC finishes and they found they couldn't guarantee them because they just don't last.  What do you guys think?  Are there good low-VOC options out there?  I found another local refinisher who I'm going to call to come out and give a quote.  Is there a certain product that I should ask him about?

Thanks,
Tim
