My wife and I built a new home with sips panels in 2008, we had a hvac contractor install a ducted ac system in the home which required 2 air handlers. The system works fine but in the winter from the heat traveling up the the diffucers they sweat and drip into the rooms. We called the installer and they changed the diffucers to a type that has a rubber gasket and a 12 x 12 plactic cover that you mount from the room side, and we also need to install 1-- 2" dow board and a 1-1" dow board in the return grills to keep them from condensating but for the third year in a row the company sent men here to disconnect all the duct work and put fiberglass insulation in the diffucers.

The company sent 3 engineers to the house and they still cant get it it stop the condensation.  Any coments are needed.

I don't pretend to be an HVAC guy, but this seems like basic physics 101. Condensation occurs when warm humid air contacts a colder surface. Hence the duct tubes are cold. So insulate the duct tubes. A thin layer of foam both insulates and provides an air barrier.

If pipes are already insulated, then condensation/moisture is being introduced elsewhere, and traveling down the ducts.

What area do you live in?

What is the RH inside the home?   At what temperature do you keep the home?

Do the ducts with the dripping grills run through unconditioned space?  If so, what is the R-value of the insulation on those ducts?   Are they hard (metal) ducts or flex duct?
