When I looked at them it was about $6,000 - $8,000 per "square" with outputs of 500-700 watts.

Didn't include installation and inverters.

CRAP!!!!! Nobody will but them!!!!!!!

I am currently looking at them and the cost is much less than what is referenced above. The output is pushing 1,000 watts per "square." The output is less slightly less than panels but who wants those on the top of their house. Basically, you have to give a little to make up for the aestetics.

So what was the cost?

we're doing a 4kw system Apollo by Certainteed about 12' x 28' my cost for all the components was $15K

My parents just purchased a new home at Vistancia by Trilogy(Shea Homes I think) and all new homes in the subdivision have a 4KW solar system with shingles. This is in Peoria AZ, you might want to look into them or call the builder since they think it is worth it to put on every home!
