I fully expect to see high window and door costs since I am in the high velocity area of Florida.
That makes either impact glass or protective covering like shutters mandatory for new homes.
I have been researching all the window manufacturers that I can find that provide impact glass.

Latest version of my house shows over 670 sq ft of SW facing glass the rest which is more than 670 sq ft will be different SHGC but I hope the same U-factor.

Learning from this site is helping to down select.
I think Eugenepan is spot on, windows will be a significant cost for me but then again given where I live that is necessary.
I was not aware of lift and slide sliders for example which is why this site has been valuable to me...
My guess is that my windows will be around 1/9th the cost of the house but that is a SWAG at the moment...
