I just got this question on my forum from a woman from the Chicago area. Can anyone help out with it?
"I recently moved into a high rise condo building that is about 60 years old and is a landmark building. Windows are single pane, and cover all outside walls. Heat is hot water, old boilers and pipes running through all interior walls carrying hot water. Most residents complain about the building being too hot in the winter (we all have our own controls, but I never turn mine on - heat is just 'there'. Building is undergoing some expensive major rehabbing right now and management doesn't have time or money to research solutions - in fact, they say there are none. Individual solutions have been to sometimes turn on AC in the middle of winter. What have other buildings done?"
