I would like to start building energy efficient single family and multi-unit buildings with ICF's.  Are there grants available to get started?

Thanks in advance,

Chad

No there is not. You will not only not get funding. You will be treated like an unwanted outcast in the industry.

There is alot of good buddy obsticles to overcome. To even get thru to the owners buidlers architects.

Sad. But oh so true.

There are other energy effient building systems out there. There is not one that comes close to ICF. Not one that has its strengths. Ect.. Ect... But yet you are in for an uphill battle. So get in it for the long haul. Stick to your guns.

The tides are a turning. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Good Luck !

Got your note IC:

To the Q)
Appropriation of a wholesale GC's with Energy Star (TM) compliance can be seen in savings with the multiple contracting netting out is overall less. if that GC may not be the cheapest HVAC Solar or GT- if-when alone bidding, but sells to a co-GC on the build, being allowed to profit on more of the build contracts, just as any volume discount fairly and always legally in adhering to proper conditions.

cad_ll - check out your state's new home building incentives for energy efficient homes. The Fed program - eStar, has some small incentives of a grand or two (administered by your state). NY State for example, also has a NYSERDA program with an incentive of $5125 for single family homes, and other incentives for builders of multiple homes, or multi family homes. These homes have to meet certain standards for energy efficiency, and it does not really matter what they are made of as long as they meet the standards. NYSERDA used the NAHB Green building certification for the standard.
