I am committed to help chinese villagers replace there home destroyed  by the massive earthquake!

I  am forming a non profit 501c3 foundation to  reach my goal of replacing homes destroyed by this
disaster, why am i posting here? well  the homes i plan to build are sip homes,  12'x24' and 16'x32'  on a
concrete footing,  no floor, many rural homes have dirt floors, for door and windows i want the new owners to slavage the old windows and doors where possible, I am going to china july 8th 2008 to begin getting the
permissions from the chinese goverment , them plan to set up a production plant for sips in a tent type building on land close to disaster area , then  give these sips basic homes to re-establish villages in rural areas.
there are many questions i have about all this sip  building , ventalation, methods of seal the  wood outside and in, i looking for enginners who could provide plans, and all details nessary to show the praticality of sips
to the chinese goverment ,i'd like to establish contact with people who have a heart  for the homeless in china. the ''Disaster Relief Shelter Foundation''  need  severald national/ regional/local builders to be founding board menbers / contibuters to this project and 1000's of local associate members to raise funds for 1 home or a village of homes and comunity center/school. i don't yet know the cost of putting up a home the size i'm talking about, will know in next couple months ,my thought is between $2,500 to $5,000.  each or less. The sizes of home will be miminum as is comom in villages, most time no electricity or water in homes, anyone who
has knowledge of doing a gravity flow water system or rural methane sewage recalmation plant to produce electric  or any other method of low or no cost electricity would be encouraged to join  as a volunteer to
in this project.

If anyone is interested to know more contact ; roland catellier  @ [email protected]

soory tom, for what you call spamming,  i wonder how many homeless you have helped in this country?
i have been a section 8 landlord here since 1996 that is houseing subsidized by govt. for the poor, i've also reduced rent for elderly  in my rental on social security who could not get housing money cause they got like $700 a month from social security. who can survive in this country with that kind of income, the church i went to a few year ago rented housing for homeless, it didn't work out for homeless the perfered the wood behing the mall and shopping centers. there are many homeless types in this country, some need mental health, with was cut from the budget, some lazy, some good people who fell thru the cracks of churches, employers, and public assistance, when katrina happened i wanted to start up a closed mobile home manufacturing unit to give away home to needy, but got no where cause it was considered compitition to home builders, zoneing didn't want to rebuild the pooer section of new orleans displaceing many perminently, poor are sueing the goverment over mold and formaldihide exposure, when all the was needed to prevent it was vetalation to evacute the mositer  from the homes they were given. from what i read on line sips tech-knology is fairly public info, so to say they stole it is a bit unfair,  yes there is a for profit production unit in china it location is far away from the disaster area and they have adopted capitalism with the also stole from usa or we exported in name of democrasy, to sum up i still think it's the right thing to do
to help needy desparate people all over the world !

Rolin;

I am not a slum lord like some people!
I participate in a weekly bible study at my church while we serve dinners to the homeless, provide clothing, bus passes, arange for mental and physical helth treatment.
We don't do it for money. we do it because they are children of God.

tom,

i soo glad that you active in your church and doing so much for the homeless, PTL !
here is a little about my life and conviction, my first career was 18 yrs of christian volunteer work, working with youth in this country, the island of the caribean, india, nepal, pakistan, afganistan,  greece, dubia, sri lanka, columbia, brazil, back to india. the focus most of the time was with western  youth in those countries who were disalutioned with there society and searching for inner peace , useing drugs, getting very sick, and were sometimes in jail, we would go to jail and bring them food, wittness to them, contact there embassy, take them into our home feed and  get them medications, and arrange  for air fare to send them home. Some gave there life to the Lord all got see to see the love of god.even atheist saw something different in our action  and soften the hate for  the churches  that had treated them self rightously. Of the seven i children we had all but 1 was born in foreign counties first and last were born in india,  in 1988 we returned from india, six months after we returned from india my wife died of cancer, left me with children 1.5 yrs old to 14 yrs old, so in 1992 i became a real estate broker to provide for my children, during the 18 yrs of volunteer  i was never paid  by the organization , God provided, thru family ,early inheritance, churches, and individual christian who believed we were doing a good work. While i was overseas i lived in midle class rental property, and lived at a local standard, unlike the church missionaries who stayed at the hilton for a few weeks  and went home to there  big comfortable homes in usa. I lived out of suit cases with my family, in homes with no air conditioning, electricty  on for 12 hours a day, water supply for a few hours per day.In brazil i helped organize an orphanage  for a georgia based mission board and the assembly of god church in belem, 60 suposed orphaned children, the local pastor on first day asked me to find out why the older boys were eating out of garbage can at orphange, so the next day i eat only what the kids were given to eat, then i knew why, i was even tempted, so i suggested  that we increase food budget to get enough to feed them his responses get your mission board to send more money, turns out the check from mission board was sent to  the churches in new bedford mass for evanglism, so i went out and solited food in the markets, sualter houses, fish proceesing plants, i brough to orphanage plenty of food, then i solited  dentist doctors and what ever was need, i fix the washing machine, whatever needed to be done. when my visa was about to expire ,i asked the church to arrange a perminent visa, they said no, so i said let me introduce someone to the people who have been donating to the orphanage, his response was were not beggars like you foreigners.
If provideing houseing equal to or higher than sec 8 standard is a slum lord let me be a slum lord.
If asking the establishment  to support a bigger project than i ever attempted is whorring myself let me whore away. Heck I'm getting a resputation like Jesus had  I'm in good company!

Rolin, I wonder if you've considered the advantages of teaching people how to build their own homes. The gift of a skill and the means to make a living, and of course, be of service. The need for expensive manufactured materials and the complex financial system that supports it can be reduced greatly. All the toxin created by the manufacture of the materials can be eliminated. Fine quality homes can be constructed in a way that supports all life, by building with natural local products. In areas where there is straw, straw bale homes are one of the answers. In other areas, compressed earth blocks, like the ones used in Auroville India could be perfect. Both of these styles of building are extremely inexpensive, easy to teach to people with limited skills and tools, and TRULY SUSTAINABLE. Sips panels are none of these. I think it's imperative that we give back this power to individuals to create their own homes. Corporations have neither the right nor the reason to have such powers. If we are to survive much longer on this wonderful garden that is a gift to us, we need to reconnect with our awareness of our place and inseparability to the earth and all life that it supports. To nurture and live in harmony could be our aim as well.
