Anyone have any experience with Panasonic's line of Bath Ventilation Fans that are made to run continuously. I've had these installed in a new construction home made from ICF to help with humidity control. I'm not sure if they are wired or installed correctly, here's my question....

They have a motion sensor to trigger the rise from the low continuous speed (I have selected 30 CFM on the dial) to high speed (80 CFM) when it senses motion (occupancy). Then a time delay setting sends it back to low speed after motion is absent for a set time (I have it set to 5 minutes). It sounds to me like it is running at high speed all the time. Should I notice an audible difference between the low and high speeds? The unit is wired to a 3-function switch, one for the fan, one for the light and one for the nightlight. Is it improper that the fan is wired to a switch? Should this just be a continuous power supply and let the motion sensor do its job? Because the way it is wired, I have the ability to turn the fan on and off at the switch, but again don't notice an audible difference to convince me that it is functioning as intended, it appears to always be running at high speed. The motion sensor is illuminating and appears to be working without incident.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You should definitely hear the difference between 30 and 80 CFM. Put something in front of the sensor so that it can't see motion and sit in there and listen carefully. Use your control to put it at 30cfm and see if the sound matches up. I don't see the problem about the switch unless the unit loses your settings when it loses power.

Off topic, but do you have an ERV on this vent fan? If not, you could be wasting a lot of energy running it 24/7.
