Here's the issue.
I'd like only one hole in my porch soffit to accomodate two exhaust fans.
Is it possible to vent both kitchen and bath fans together
with a kind of Y duct at the end of the runto end up in one outlet?

Thanks!

It could possibly be done using backdraft dampers. However you may want to consider using one inline fan (assuming you are not trying to exhaust greasy kitchen air) after the wye rather than two fans ahead of the wye. You could then control the one fan from both locations, and not worry about kitchen exhaust getting to the bathroom and bathroom air into the kitchen.

Thanks for the replies.
Chris,
Would you know by any chance if that's "not legal" for ontario building code requirements.

You definitely don't want to have your kitchen exhaust tied into something else. You could tie more than one bathroom fan into one vent.

Why do you want to run them together?

because you could blow the odors from one bathroom to another of one fan is off

It is possible but not likely. I have 2 bathrooms on the second floor. They share 1 exhaust. Because the hose length to the fan is far greater than to the vent and they both have dampeners, no odor has ever been detected. And there has been a few times where you definitely would have noticed.
