Hello Friend,
Yes i have heard of construction with plastic bottles. Its a very innovative idea and great step in going green.
If this way of construction is adopted commercially then i think we can recycle the plastic into large quantity.
If you want to have a look at the house made with plastic bottles then here is the link.

The plastic bottle house looks nice. Thanks, Runka.

The Polli-Brick building that savetheplanet is talking about is another building. There is a discussion going on about it in other forums. You can see drawings and pictures of it at http://www.greenerpeople.com/forum/...ricks.html

If you look through the above and check the material they all post, you can eventually find out the stuff they are not posting such as: the building is in Taiwan, its a building for an international show, it is made out of something called Polli-Brick which has embedded LED lighting and solar power. But, the pictures are nice.

If anybody out there knows details of this building: cost, performance specs, carbon footprint, floorspace, use of air/water, etc. it would be great to have that conversation and see if this building is worth the buzz.

The Polli-Brick Building has, it would appear, arrived. It is called the Eco Ark Pavilion. Here's a picture. I've seen TV news reports and news from Reuters too. They answer stuff like cost and materials. Take a look

Good issue. What's the track record of eco friendly building materials getting approved by local authorities?

POLLI-Brick, a recycled polymer bottle that can be interlocked to build an incredible array of structures. Made from recycled PET bottles, the lightweight bricks offer excellent acoustic and thermal insulation and can build anything from fences and roofs to pots for plants, skylights and beautiful walls of light.

POLLI-Bricks possess incredible thermal and sound insulating characteristics in addition to an awesome strength to weight ratio, which should make them a hit with architects and builders alike. While you can’t yet get these at your local building supply mega-store, the economy, versatility and structural potential of the POLLI-Brick may just be what a struggling building market needs.

well... seems like this building is going to be re-located at the end of June. To all different parts of Taiwan. Hoping to see what the deconstruction will look like. They apparently have an NGC MEGASTRUCTURES show out on the EcoARK. http://natgeotv.com/ca/megastructures-eco-ark
