3M, announced the latest addition to the Prestige Series - an ultra Safety & Security version. These new films are the first clear, metal-free window films that help hold the glass together to maintain the integrity of windows and help protect against would-be intruders and flying glass during severe weather, while measurably reducing the heat and UV rays that enter homes and commercial buildings. Because the films are clear, they do not change the appearance of the home or building, thus preserving the views from the inside and outside.

These films use patented multilayer technology to create a polymer-based window film that is clear, tear resistant and durable. When applied to the inside of a window, the film helps keep the glass in place should the window shatter. This helps prevent shards of glass from flying throughout a room, the leading cause of injury during a hurricane according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) (1).
