Has anyone one had any experience with an ICF system called "vertical ICF"?   I found a website for a company (tfsystem.com) and spoke to a builder who apparently uses it.  They state that placing the forms upright (up to 12 feet high?) results in less seams and joints.  Anyone have any insight?

Thanks, Mark Pecora

Do a search and then repost questions! Some like them, some don't, check what has been discussed and then you'll have a better idea.

Mark,

I recently used these vertical ICFs on part of a new garage. I have also worked with a horizontally laid ICF from Reward. I feel that the verical is harder to work with and is somewhat more expensive than Reward. The one main advantage of the verticals are that if you drop a tool down into the cavity, you can theoretically raise one of the panels to get at the tool.

I am also researching other ICF manufacturers to find out which ones are easiest to use vs. price.

Mark Pecora,

I have used a vertical system called ICF Tilt UP to build a storm shelter in Auburn Alabama. Since the forms were assembled at the shop, they went up fast. See www.icftiltup.com The homeowner and I were very pleased with the results.
