Finally going through the over-runs from our ICF project and I have extra 45 grapplers (those cheese grate type things that go between the sheetrock and stryo) I didn't use when we built.. if you're interested.. $20.00 + 8.00 ground shipping.. can pay me using paypal.

Hi Fred,
OK, I'm not an ICF purist, (I build with other systems, as well) but I have been using ICF's for almost 15 years now, and I have a question. What the heck is a grappler? and what is it used for? and why is it used?

here's a link to grappler... (I have no connection with ebuildingproducts.com, just did a google for "grappler icf")
http://www.ebuildingproducts.com/catalog/grappler.htm
I placed them at the top corners of the windows and in the center of larger windows just in case we ever go to curtains or drapes that might need to fasten there.. they're kinda like a cheese grate.. with corners bent so you can push them into the styro and then they get sandwiched between the styro and sheetrock.. although this link says light weight fastners, I have heard that they will support a tremendous amount (just how much I don't know) of weight... i.e. for fastening stair rails to icf walls. I think in the drapes/curtain application they were a good idea.
