This is a follow-up to my previous thread: http://www.greenbuildingtalk.com/Forums/tabid/53/view/topic/forumid/4/postid/58162/Default.aspx

Looking at this article/study: http://www.concretethinker.com/energymodels/Residential-Energy-Model-Overview.aspx
This document has the sections/details: http://www.concretethinker.com/Content%5CUpload%5C296.pdf

I have generated basic cost estimates using RSMeans09 Assemblies and Construction books, and was hoping some people with more experience could give them a quick look-over and make sure I didn't miss anything.  I had to extrapolate for the larger dimensioned framing, and only had basic ICF unit costs.  I made basic measurements from the drawings and approximated the number of ICF blocks needed.

Are poured and CMU insulated walls really THAT much more expensive?

Attached is an image of my detailed spreadsheet, any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Aaron

insulated CMU and insulated concrete walls are more but not nearly as much...
You should repost the same image - next time when you printscreen it - save it as .PNG file - that way it won't lose any clarity.

Sorry about the highly compressed jpg, it was to meet the 100kb limit in one image.  I assume PNGs have 100kb limit too?

Here are 2 separate jpgs that should be more readable

Thanks for your help!

Aaron

Whenever I used RSMeans in the past (last time was a few years ago), I found their numbers to be higher than actual local rates. I think their numbers are based on larger scale construction and possibly union rates, etc. I think the best way to get accurate numbers is to call a few Masonry Contractors and Concrete Companies to get a true idea of costs in your area.
