My wife and I are planning on having a house constructed in late spring 2010, and would like any advice and names of some reputable ICF conctractors in the Clarksville, TN area. Currently we have our plans picked out and a general idea of where we'd like to build. Just would like to make sure that ICF is the right option for us. Thanks

Thanks for the responses. The biggest issue we are having with ICF is trying to figuring out wether or not it's a option financially for us. Like I said early, we have a homeplan picked out. I've read all the comments on the cost difference between ICF and traditional framing. We haven't bought the plans for the house yet, because you opt to get plans for a ICF house or wood framed house. Since we're not interested in buying two sets of plans, all we can do at this point is try and talk to builders and anyone with experience to try and get rough estimates to make up our minds. jrossman22- we would be interested in seeing and possibly talking to the homeowners of the ICF here in Clarksville. I recently talked to a builder here in the area and his response to ICF construction was that I wouldn't get my money back out of the house (lets say inside of ten years) if my wife and I needed to relocate for our jobs. Anyhow thanks to everyone for any help. Like I said we still have alot of decisions to make. We plan to try and go the "Home and Garden Show" in Nashville.

Dream2build,

I am currently building a large ICF home right down the interstate from you in Joelton.

Would be happy to show it to you and discuss your plans. The homeowner I'm building for did a lot of cost comparison between well insulated stick frame and ICF and was easily able to justify ICF. He's probably a better salesman than I am and would also be happy to talk to you.

Give me a call.
