I would be interested in finding out the pros and cons of the different hot wire cutters on the market for cutting channels and electrical box openings. I need something very reliable and sturdy and versitile that doesn't need repairing or parts all the time. Our climate and workers are very hard on electronis so the simpler the better. I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks Randy

An electric chainsaw did the trick for me. Cut out the wire channels and box outlets with no problems.
Simply add a wheel at the end of the blade. Get's dull but does fine for foam.

I was once told to use those electric bbq starters that cost $9.95. They work, are cheap, and relatively safe. You can look/buy them at the link below.

I use a 'branding iron' type foam scoop commonly used with SIPS.
You can set the depth as needed, and a 3 1/2" scoop is just about right for a 4" box.
They will hold up to most anything, including carpenters.
