Just finished pouring the wall basement, 8 rows, 10'-8" tall wall, 6" cavity, AMVIC 3.30 forms. Overall was a great pour of 34 cubic meter 25Mpa concrete. No major issues, just the tape to protect the foam was damaged, so will have some fun cleaning the interlocks to install the foam for next level. Now I've got a question and appreciate any suggestion. When the sill plate is installed on the I-Beam, do you guys drill holes in the I-Beam and attach the sill plate with screws? In my existing house and saw couple pictures on the net the sill plate just held on I-Beam by bent nails on the edge. Thanks.

Normally place L-bolts at top of wall @ 4' OC. Then drill holes in sill plate and use 3" square foundation washers and nuts to fasten. Need to place the L-bolts so don't interfere with trusses and catch all the ends of sill plate lumber.

The I-beam on which the joists are sitting. Bent nails are can be seen here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/J4c3U.jpg I know about the sill plate under the trusses but not sure about one on top of the I beam

I have seen this done by bolting double 2x lumber to the top and inside of the steel beam. Then the joist is fastened with joist connectors as normal. No one should drill holes in an I-beam without first consulting the structural engineer. In fact, the structural engineer should tell you how they want this done.
