Has anyone had any experience with either?  We were told we could use Cedar Breather between OSB SIP roof and the metal roofing we want to use.  The StoGuard is a spray-on vapor barrier and is supposed to be ideal with SIP.  Thanks.  Cathy

Haven't heard of either of those before, but they both look like they would do what I mentioned in the other thread.  StoGuard is not actually a vapor barrier according to their website -- it's a water/air barrier, but it's vapor permeable, which is perfect for your roof.  You'd need furring strips or purlins over it to provide the ventilation/drainage space.  Looks like Cedar Breather is an alternative to furring/purlin strips.  I know there are other brands of that sort of drainage mat out there as well.  I think you still want the air/water barrier underneath it (like StoGuard, Tyvek, building felt).

Hi Cathy:  I am curious as to why the SIPS you are using are made with OSB.  Our product is made from cement board and is not subject to moisture problems.
