Here is my entry for cement surfaced sips, in my opinion they are the best in class, http://www.finpan.net/protec/sip.html

Ergo, with a steel H member between each 3 foot wide panel, I would seriously doubt that they can achieve an R-20 (as they suggest) for a whole wall R-value. All of that steel is going to transfer a lot of heat through the wall.

Ya, I hear what you are thinking but did you notice that the steel is in the center of the foam and they also offer a 6" foam core also.

Are you saying that the H member doesn't come in contact with the cement board skins?

Download their installation PDF and check it for yourself.

I did, actually, and it is really difficult to tell from the drawings. But, if it is true, then I certainly have much less of a problem with them. I would still want to see whole-wall r-values before specifying them for a project.

That is the one. If you're telling me that you see pictures or read words which say that the steel H doesn't contact the cement board, then I will accept that, I just couldn't make it out from the document.

Dear all
I think H member just like column for bracing between panels, and the effect in
R-value is too small. Whatever thank you for your informations.

Yes, it looks like they changed the PDF to a text only package. Tha was not a good move in my view, potential customers need info and you would think a web page would be a good place to offer it., their loss.

I have a copy on my system and could send it if you request it.
