Aside from the challenges of finding a SIP builder in Toronto, Ontario, is there anything I should consider in using SIPS for a new roof. I live in a 100 year old, two-storey brick, rectangular home (14' x 40') with a flat roof. The roof is leaking and due to an addition put on by previous owners 13 years ago, also has a 8" dip in the middle - don't ask!

It occurred to me that instead of just rebuilding the flat roof, thus removing the dip, we could reconfigure the roof profile to a peaked style. This would give us some much needed attic space to play around with in the next few years. A SIP roof would seem to be ideal for this as the attic space would be well insulated and wide open, compared to a framed roof with trusses/rafters, and conventional cathedral ceiling insulation.

Does this seem like a good idea? Anything I should be aware of?

I have seen Ontario prices quoted of $6/sq. ft. but this was for wall panels. Can anyone give me a ball park price for roof panels suitable for Ontario code requirements? I will also need to track down a contractor in Toronto who knows what a SIP is and isn't afraid to use them.
