I have been thinking about building an enclosed trailer for a fish house. Everything I find on trailer construction seems to be typical stick frame construction for the walls on a trailer. Is there any reason that I couldn't use SIPs for the walls and roof of my fish house trailer? It seems like they should be superior to frame style construction for trailers (even the metal frame ones). Are there any gotchas I'm just not seeing?

Wood lab;
your not the the first to do this, there are many fishing camps on the Louisiana Bayou, made with metal sips, they are made as thin as thin as 2"
I use the 2" for hurricane shutters on my home

So there wouldn't be any structural issue with using them for a mobile structure, correct? I was thinking of using an 8x16ish sized trailer with a standing metal seam roof (maybe even a PV roof since I'll need all the power I can get). I didn't know they made 2" sips. Can you point me to what you suggested?

Use metal SIPs. Double the amount of fasteners you would use on a stationary structure. Use adhesive on all joints and connections.

If 4x8' is OK for an application, are there reasons not to just glue sheet steel to foam instead of buying SIPs? I've never seen a SIP, so I don't know how they are made.

sure if you have the right adhesive,  roll coater, press or vacuum bag , you could DIY, but you could not do it for less than you can buy it
