I'd like to know who is the best company to deal with. As well as who provides the best pricing for panels? I'm in Saskatchewan and I don't have many options here. If I went local the cost would be significantly higher than building a 2 x 6 stick. Anyone have any experience with Valubuild? Their website says they have a 1120sqft rancher kit for $30K thats all the cutouts, screws, etc. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I don't know about price or quality but you have Emercor fairly close to you. one of the members here is using them and probably he can give you more details. They make PUR SIPs.

I paid $6.75/square foot in Calgary for Magboard SIPS, two stories 2800sq feet for around $24 000. That included screws, foam, engineering and a little help here and there. I had to cut out my own openings but that's not very hard and I think I prefer it that way. Thermapan was close in pricing but the shipping from down east made the end cost higher.

There Sean,

Our prices are more around between 4,25 to 4,75 for 6,5'' with accessories, and a dollar more for the pre cut, i think prices are higher in Alberta since the market is booming.

Great, now ya tell me.

That sounds like a good deal, $30 000 for 1120 sq feet sounded quite high unless it included the roof or labour or both. I think the OSB would be easier to work with given the weight of each panel.

I am considering doing a project with Greensmart manufacturing because they were very supportive and friendly about the whole process. They are located in Dawson Creek, BC but they ship to Saskatchewan. www.greensmartmanufacturing.com

The fellows at insulspan have been very helpful and the pricing seems very reasonable as well. They work real hard at getting the design right.

We are at the roof panel stage and my construction manager said the wall panels went together surprisingly quickly.

Cross fingers for the roof.

for the person asking about ValuBuild or Jan Brown's (real name Jan Bronstein) ValuBuild - i would stay away. the company is called Jan Brown because thats the only person who works there. He is a one man show. Its a crock. Some dump single room office in the wrong part of town. Do you want to deal with a one man show, not me. My order last year was a cluster f##k. More than helpful to take my deposit, than no answer of the calls from there. Dumps me on some part time contract person to do day to day. A flake. You can call insulspan and many others direct and deal with a quality company. Its a completly unprofessional experience. You know when it sounds like too good of a deal .... well you know the rest stick to a solid buildier who owns the entire process, not someone who is just going to resell someones panel and tell you to have a nice day. Buyer beware dont deal with Jan Brown ValuBuild panel homes. Lots of other people other there. dont get ripped off like i was
