They chose wrong. But at least they can be in the ICF portion during a storm or not to hear traffic.

Brad, they think they chose wisely, this is for a former customer, this is our third SIPs project for the same family, the first was a 4,000 sq. foot SIP home in South Tampa, they recently disclosed that they never hear the air traffic from nearby McDill AFB,
this new addition for her sister , also near McDill was chosen because they recently had twins and the wood trussed roof on the ICF house is not keeping out the noise,
so the new nursery/spare/bedroom /office addition was chosen for speed and the noise factor. :)

Crew did an excellent job blending in the SIP to the conventional wood framed roof, by using a 14" Marino ware Joistrite system @ 24" oc we were able to attain a 140# per sq. ft. load @ 1/480

Owner builder that completed the addition finishes
the SIPs roof and SIPs walls blended well with the trussed roof and ICF walls

Very nice! I have always thought that an ICF block house should use Steel SIP panels for the roof to avoid the use of wood. This addition blends so well, that I'm sure no on would know that it was added later.

David, I agree , it makes no sense to spend on an ICF wall and set an inferior wood roof on top
Glad you posted your phone number , I tried to call you or Karen a while back but had an old number. I'll call you tomorrow
