I'm assuming the bucks will be plywood, however this is a question I can't yet answer.    Clearly, we can't mount the windows into foam, but I'm not sure exactly what the builder has in mind to address this.

This house is going to be stucco, inside and out.     Here's the look I'm going for with the windows.    I'll ask the builder to clarify how he's going to mount the windows and will post it when I've got a more specific answer.

I want the extra mass and wall thickness.    I'd rather achieve a bit of it with a little extra concrete, than with an extra two inches of foam.    We'll already have 6" of foam on the exterior.

It's a small house (1,300 sq ft), so I don't think the cost of the extra two inches of concrete will be a greatly limiting factor.
