Anyone done a recent install with warmboard? I would like to hear about the experience...
did you install the pex after the boards were down? or did you wait until you were ready for the
finish floor?
I have spoke to sever folks whom have warmboard and they love it... but the installers I have spoken
to expressed some hate towards it... funny how that is

We're planning an ICF home in Northern Ontario. We will have a poured slab in the basement, so hydronic in-floor heating makes sense. Also, we would like to add solar water heating in the future. Rather than going to a furnace, I've been pricing out alternatives for hydronic heating on our main floor.
Conceptually Warmboard seemed like a good solution. However, it comes in at $8.00/sq ft delivered and weighs almost 100 lbs per sheet. At that price, I feel that I have to look for alternatives. So far, Gypcrete isn't an option in this area. Now I'm looking at Hambro, LiteDeck and Insul-Deck. Also, someone suggested going to core slab but I don't know how I would get the pex tubing installed.
Still looking...
Brian.

There are a number of informative threads in these Forums about Warmboard and people's experiences with it. Just do a search.
