What does it cost to have a geo wells drilled? I have seen several web sites that drill smaller dia holes than the typical water well. The drilling equipment is much smaller as well. Top layer is sand stone, but could be limestone once deeper.

That typically varies by geographical location.  Not only due to rock formation, but also travel expense for the driller, and the amount of local awareness.

Typically, a "midwest-borehole" will cost between $1100 and $1600 per ton.  Some areas are in ecxess of $6,000 (some eastern US areas)

I had one six inch well drilled 150 feet deep. I used a submersible pump to provide water to the heat pump and for household use. The heat pump discharged into a pond. The well was bored by an amazing drilling rig that did it in just a couple of hours. In Ohio, it cost six thousand dollars including the pump and pressure tank.
