I recently received a $40,000 estimate to install a  Waterfurnace GSHP in our 2000 sq ft home. The price did include upgrading the duct work. Space is not an issue soonly trenching will be required. Is it my imagination or is this estimate super high?

What part of the country are you from?  What does the estimate include.  New construction?

Thanks,
Tom

It is always good to get a second opinion.  Some contractors will shoot high if they are not familiar with the technology.  Others will shoot high if they are the only one ; ) www.hydroheat.com

my over the phone estimate was 12-15K for a 1600 sq ft house with us doing all the digging!, of course, I don't think this technology is really "here" in southern WV yet...
