1.  Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.  In May 2005 I installed a Waterfurnance unit E035 in my residence.  In October 2006 the evaporator coil was replaced because of several pin holes in it and waterfurnance paide a small portion of it.  In May 2008 the evaporator coil once again had to be replaced because of small pin holes in it.  Waterfurnance refused to pay for the entire rerplacement cost of this second evaporator coil and saddled me with a 297.75 repair bill for something that is obviously a factory defect.  My installer informed me that waterfurnance purchased a bad batch of evaporator coils between the years of 2005 and 2006.  Calls to the company in Fort Wayne, IN were nonproductive.  They basically told me so sad too bad for you.  I am very disappointed with this company, as they profess to have the greatest warranty on the market.   I have filed a grievance with the BBB in Indiana and I eagerly await their response.    If you have experienced this problem, please respond... Thank You....

I'm a strong advocate of Waterfurnace products and am troubled that this isn't being covered under warranty. Do please keep us advised.

Does the installer have any comment?

It's always tough as the installing contractor to balance making a living and backing the product. As I run a small company, and am 80% of the time involved personally with my customers, I must often remind myself that the best way to serve them is to stay in business. In times where we spend $100 every other day in gas for a service truck, $300 (while not insignificant) is less than the average repair. I'm not a dealer of your product, but sympathetic to the installer. Complain to the manufacturer and cross your fingers.
Remember all the while most of our insurance deductibles are >$297 as we consider this less significant than higher prices.

It looks like the problem is some what common

Can this the repaired, instead of replaced? I would think a single Pin hole would be easily to resolve with some solder to plug the leak. Than again, finding the leak could be an issue too. R-22/R-410a is running thru the evaporator coils, right? If all the freon leaked out is there something you can put into the coils to identify a leak and remove it again when completed? It's proably a more labor intensive task than just replacing the evaperator coil anyway.

Actually I would think the level of quality control would be higher on the very parts that contain stuff that can harm the environment the most.

This has me thinking that a House warranty would be a really good idea right about now. I know I'm going to be very unhappy if I have ANY problems with my new system within the first 5 years of ownership.

1.  The installer is basically worthless and will not go to bat for me.  It appears they are only interested in making a buck and moving on...   I am trying to go green, but I am starting to see red....
