I am ready to install a TETCO Model WR26 G Water to Water heat pump. I purchased this from arits.com (now bankrupt). This unit is supposed to supply both heated and chilled water. I am growing frustrated with TETCO regarding tech support having requested basic information on this model numerous times and never getting the courtesy of a call back. Does anyone have any experience with the arits.com units or TETCO. Judging from the information I do have airts has installed a proprietary control unit and failed to ship the thermostat.

Tetco has been sluggish to respond to inquiries I've made in the past.
Out of curiosity what are you using the unit for?

I am planning to use it to heat and cool a 1273 sf over 723 sf walk out basement for a total living of about 2000 sf last winter we heated it with 2 1500 watt space heaters and they did not run full time. The walls are blown in fiber glass R 28 and the ceiling is R50 the floor between the unheated garage and upstairs is 50 as well. And the floor over the walkout is R 30. and the house is tight. The plan is to buffer the heat pump through a 38 gal water heater for both heating and cooling to prevent short cycling. The rated capacity of the unit is 28,800 BTU heating and just over 30,000 btu cooling the real problem is I have no operating instructions for the unit what is posted on line with TETCO is obsolete and for a 50,000 btu pump with no cooling. To make matters worse Airts has wired a proprietary terminal block and did no ship the thermostat to go with is. So here is the plan, have the zone thermostats call for the zone pumps to pump water at a temperature to be determined to heat the floor 80 to 85 Deg. Use the water heater to supplement the heat pump during heating season. Use the fan coils to call for cooling during the cooling season. Locally we have four seasons heat, don’t run anything cool, don’t run anything and back to heat. I have never seen a day where both heating and cooling were required during the same 24 hr period. I have a good electrician to do the electrical and a Hivac guy to do the system checks and what not and the loops were designed by airts and installed and leak and flow checked. We believe that the cooling heating functions are controlled by a solenoid valve on the refrigerant system and the one question we have is this valve to be activated before or after the time delay that establishes water flow prior to starting the compressor?

PS Heating is Radiant Floor 1 foot or more of 1/2" Pex per sf of heated space 250' long loops. Extra tubing adjacent to exterior walls and more adjacent to windows.

Try it and see. Water coming on a little late won't matter, early is wasteful.
Like you guys, I've no knowledge of the unit and could only guess without a manual/schematic.
