I just dated the 3 bottles we found during our current excavation.
1) double dot Pepsi ~ 1953
2) Roman Cleanser ~ 1940- 1945
3) Sprague and Warner Catsup ~ 1950-1955
Previously we un earthed a Detroit Brewing Company Beer bottle ~ 1895.
What fun things have you folks found on digs?

We dug up a human skeleton.

Things were pretty around the job site for a few days.

Maybe it was a Dewayne Dean victim, he's always forgetting where he puts things, tools, car keys, bodies....

The most interesting thing I ever dug up, or rather into is a abondoned septic tank while digging a electrical conduit trench, needless to say I dug around it.

I didn't really dig them up but I found an old peppersauce bottle, inkwell bottle and bullet starter for a muzzleloader in the crawlspace of an ancient old building in southern Illinois. The bottle dates to around 1865 according to antique bottle books. I assume the others are from around that era too. I figure the bullet starter might have seen action in the Civil War.

Lots of the glass insulators that the high wire electricians used.  They must have dropped them all over the place.

We found a cow skeleton on our dig. Not surprised since we are 250' from a buried barn foundation. Still cool to see I guess.

After shutting down the jobsite for 3 days,  they told us that it was not a crime scene,  but an archealogical  find.

They took the bones and left.

Sounds like a pain in the tail, sure is an interesting dig though.
